Benefits of an infrared sauna

The infrared sauna is intended to be relaxing and rejuvenating, whilst allowing you to experience the benefits from a traditional sauna but on a deeper level.

Clearlight TrueWave™️ infrared sauna in Perth City uses unmatched full-spectrum infrared technology. The TrueWave full-spectrum is made from grade “A” Canadian cedarwood, with 8mm thick tempered glass. Combined with medical-grade technology, it has been designed to penetrate deep within your body and offers an array of wellness benefits.

One of the top health benefits of regularly using an infrared sauna is that it promotes the natural detoxification process. In addition, it targets the lymphatic, immune, and cardiovascular systems without the intense air temperatures that traditional saunas create.

More benefits include:

  • Immune Boosting – by raising the body’s temperature by up to three degrees, illness, bacteria, and viruses can be warded off.
  • Skin Rejuvenation – sweating in the sauna helps to remove impurities from the skin, resulting in glowing skin.
  • Stress & Fatigue Reducing – by stimulating the autonomic nervous system and encouraging you to enter into the parasympathetic (rest and digest) state, your entire body can achieve deep relaxation.
  • Weight loss – sweating in an infrared sauna can mimic the same positive effects on the cardiovascular system as a high-intensity workout which may improve your metabolism.
  • Increased Circulation – raising the body temperature dilates the blood vessels increasing blood production and circulation.
  • Joint & Muscle Pain Management – heating the body generates the delivery of blood and oxygen to core muscles, aiding in recovery

To maximise the effects of aforementioned benefits, we recommend that you encourage blood circulation after your infrared sauna. This could be anything from dry-brushing your skin, performing exercise (one of our yoga classes) or packaging your sauna with a massages.

How does infrared technology work?

The Clearlight infrared sauna uses full-spectrum sauna technology, combining carbon and ceramic heaters to produce ‘far’ or ‘true wave heating’. The True Wave full spectrum technology uses a combination of far, near and mid infrared waves, referring to where the wave falls on the colour light spectrum and have varying effects on the body. Colour therapy can be used to target specific areas of your body based on your wellness goals and when used in conjunction with infrared sauna technology is a powerful addition to your wellbeing regime.

How is it different from a regular sauna?

Traditional saunas use indirect heat set at temperatures between 80°C to 100°C, warming only the air around you. In doing so, the sauna environment becomes uncomfortably hot and may be challenging to breathe in. Our infrared sauna is heated at 62-70°C, much less than the conventional heated sauna and will make you sweat more at lower temperatures. The infrared technology is proven to penetrate 5 centimetres deep within the body targeting the lymphatic, immune and cardiovascular systems.

About Colour Light Therapy

Chromotherapy, visible-light therapy, or more commonly colour light therapy, is the science that uses the light spectrum to balance and stimulate cells within the body.
The infrared technology can be combined with medical-grade chromotherapy or colour-light therapy for targeted results. This century-old concept has become a valued tool for healing aspects of the body through various colour frequencies to stimulate specific wellness goals.

Here is what you need to know about the light wave spectrum:

Far-infared wave

  • An invisible light wave which can penetrate 2-5cms deep within our body.
  • Generates a light gentle heat
  • Can stimulate cell production and molecular bonds
  • Stimulates the cardiovascular system and lowers systolic and diastolic blood pressure

Near-infared wave

  • The closest lightwave to visible light.
  • Targets cosmetic and visible differences in skin appearance and elasticity.
  • Cosmetic companies use near-infrared light to generate benefits.
  • May improve collagen production, enhance immunity, encourage cell regeneration and pain relief.

Mid-infared wave

  • Targets soft tissues within the body.
  • Raises the core temperature and mimics the effects of performing light exercise.
  • Stimulates blood flow and circulation

Infrared Sauna Q & As

Do infrared saunas detoxify your body?

Infrared waves can be used as a targeted detox channel which will help to reduce the impact that accumulated toxins have on our overall health. The profuse sweating experiences in a sauna extricates accumulated toxins, such as alcohol, mercury, nickel.

How many people can be in the sauna?

The Sanctuary model can fit up to 4 people inside. We recommend 3 people maximum to ensure a comfortable experience for all people.

How often can I use the sauna?

We recommend spending a couple of times a week in the Infrared sauna. Your body will feel rejuvenated and replenished after a session, though for maximum benefits it may take a few sessions to work through toxins at varying levels and for the body to fully acclimate to the experience.

Do infrared saunas really work?

Infrared heat is great for making you sweat. One of the ways we detox the body is through sweating. Most people do not sweat enough – we need to perspire every single day! Every day we’re exposed to toxins and detoxification; sweating is the way in which our body naturally de-activates and eliminates these accumulated toxins.

Do you sweat in an infrared sauna?

Please ensure you are well hydrated before and after your experience, each individual will sweat differently in the sauna. Infrared waves activate warmth at a cellular level, in the first few sessions you may not sweat a lot as the body is working through the toxins.

Are infrared saunas safe?

Infrared saunas are extremely safe, the Clearlight technology is medical grade and has been proved and tested to adhere to all of its safety ratings. One of the biggest concerns with infrared saunas is with the level of EMF’S (electromagnetic frequencies). The Clearlight infrared sauna emits the lowest EMF levels out of all of its competitors. The technology is tested yearly to ensure it withholds the highest safety regulations with the WHO.

The sauna experience was great! It was my first time in one and 30 minutes was perfect. I felt really relaxed afterwards and had a great night’s sleep.
